A man Wednesday evening hacked to death his two young children and severely chopped his reputed wife during yet another argument about her alleged unfaithfulness, police sources said.
The incident occurred at Zeelugt North, East Bank Essequibo around 6 PM.
Police have launched a manhunt for the assailant, 26-year old Richard Lord. The cane cutter is accused of chopping to death his five year old stepdaughter,Kimberley Houston, and their two year old son,Tarif Lord, with a cutlass.
Before killing the children, he chopped off the left hand of his reputed wife, 21 year old wife Bibi Nazruna Houston, and severed her left hand fingers.
Police later said in a statement that the two children were pronounced dead on arrival at the Leonora Cottage Hospital, while the woman has been admitted in a serious condition
Sources said the bleeding has stopped, and she was expected to receive blood transfusions.
