A Guyanese security guard, who allegedly attempted to take a huge quantity of marijuana and cocaine to Barbados, was arrested at the Ogle International Airport.
Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) agents arrested the 29-year old man who lives at Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara.
He was Wednesday afternoon preparing to board a LIAT flight to Barbados.
A senior CANU agent alleged that the man was carrying two kilogrammes of marijuana and one kilogramme of cocaine.
The narcotics were concealed in a suitcase bearing the manโs name.
Several outgoing passengers have been caught at the Ogle International Airport, Guyana’s smaller international airport, since regional carriers began using there more than one year ago.
