Man feared dead in Mazaruni River boat mishap

A cargo boat capsized while fetching fuel on the Mazaruni River, resulting in the disappearance of a man, police said.

Police said  they feared that Adrian Simon drowned. No age or address was provided.

Police said that about 6:30 AM Friday, June 26, 2015 a jet boat passed a cargo boat with fuel in the Mazaruni River and the wave from the jet boat caused the cargo boat to capsize.

Simon ,who was on the cargo boat, is reported as missing and is feared drowned.

Investigations are in progress, police said.
