Guns, ammo seized; two arrested

Two guns and several rounds of ammunition were seized in just over five hours by police at separate locations.

In the first instance, at about 8PM Sunday April 12, 2015, while conducting investigations into a report of threats, the police recovered an unlicensed .32 pistol along with 17 rounds at 4 Miles, Arakaka, North West District.

A man has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with investigations.

In the second seizure, at about 1:30 AM  Monday April 13, 2015, ranks  of a mobile police patrol conducted a search on a man at Main Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice, during which a Beretta  pistol with 2 rounds was recovered.
