Mr Quincy Baird.

Last Updated on Monday, 29 December 2025, 15:04 by Writer

Mr Quincy Baird.

A former accounting executive of One Communications, formerly GTT, was on Monday charged with larceny of GY$153.9 million from that company, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said.

Police said 37-year-old Quincy Baird of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara allegedly committed the offence between July 1, 2021 and February 18, 2025.

Mr Baird, now a photographer, of Plantation “B”, Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, appeared before Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where the charge of larceny by clerk or servant was read to him.

Police said he was not required to plead.

He was granted bail in the sum of GY$1 million.

The matter was adjourned to Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

As part of the bail conditions, police said Mr Baird is required to lodge his passport with the court, have no contact with any One Communications Guyana Inc. employee and report every second Friday of the month to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters of the GPF.

Mr Baird is represented by Attorney-at-law Bernard Da Silva.
