Two persons have been arrested in connection with the discovery of a firearm and suspected marijuana at a residence at Cromarty Farm, Corentyne, Berbice, the Guyana Police Force said.
The illegal items were found on Tuesday, November 18, by police, including senior officers, when they visited the home of the famer, 43, and his partner, 55, a part-time worker.
Ballistic experts were due to examine what is believed to be a .32 firearm and one .32 ammunition which were found under a mattress in a bedroom. The search party said they also found two more rounds of ammunition and small transparent Ziplock bags containing eight grammes of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis in another part of the house.
