Three die, several injured in separate road accidents

Last Updated on Monday, 17 November 2025, 20:16 by Writer

Two persons died in a collision between two cars on Sunday evening at Silver Hill, Soesdyke-Linden Highway, the Guyana Police Force said.

Those who perished were Deron Bobb, female, age and address unknown at this time and Wayne Clarke, 51, of Grove Village, East Bank Demerara.

Police said the collision between motor cars PHH 1632 and PAG 1280 occurred about 6:30 p.m.

Investigators said motor car PHH 1632, driven by a 28-year-old male of Grove Village, East Bank Demerara, was proceeding south along the roadway when he reportedly lost control and veered onto the western lane, colliding with motor car PAG 1280, driven by a 22-year-old female of Moblissa, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

That vehicle had two juvenile passengers, ages 6 and 2, both of Moblissa Village, police said.

“Upon impact, motor car PHH 1632 overturned, causing its occupants to be pitched from the vehicle.

Emergency medical technicians later pronounced Bobb and Clarke dead at the scene,” a police statement said.

The driver of PHH 1632 is hospitalised in critical condition at the Linden Hospital Complex.

The driver and occupants of motor car PAG 1280 also received injuries and were transported to the said hospital for medical attention, police said.

The bodies of the deceased were later escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where they await post-mortem examinations.
