A Guyanese mother of three, who wanted to travel to Barbados, was Tuesday convicted and fined GUY$40,000 for falsely signing a declaration to obtain a Guyana passport.
Sealy Munroe,35, told the court that she had signed a declaration stating that she was Elena Bacchus to obtain a passport.
She confessed that with intent to defraud she had signed the document knowing same to be false on June 8, 2012.
A tearful Munroe told Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine Beharry that she was the sole breadwinner for herself and her three children and that she was planning to go to Barbados to work and support them.
