Veteran Air Traffic Controller, Trevor Daly died on Sunday after a road incident on the East Bank Demerara.
He sustained spinal injuries after his vehicle struck a log that was on the roadway last Wednesday midnight.
He remained trapped in the vehicle for several hours until sunrise when a man came to his assistance and summoned police and emergency medical technicians, sources said.
Prior to his demise, he lost mobility in most of his body but was still able to speak, according to sources.
Mr Daly was a staunch member of the Guyana Public Service Union which represents air traffic controllers.
