FIRE: Updated: All occupants are alive, one sustained burns

The four persons, who were occupying the building that also housed the ABC Chinese Restaurant at Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara, are alive following an early Tuesday morning fire, an official said.

An official said they were located. One of them sustained burns.

The fire began at 03:07 hours on Tuesday.

The fire has since been brought under control, police said.

The Guyana Police Force also said Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn was on-site as emergency services continue their operations.

Preliminary reports indicate that one person of Chinese nationality has been successfully rescued from the building.
