Miami, Oct 29 (EFE).- The U.S. Coast Guard rescued 33 migrants Wednesday from the sea near Boca Raton, north of Miami, after their boat sank, officials told Efe.
“We recovered the 33 migrants some nine kilometers (six miles) east of Boca Raton” in Palm Beach County, a Coast Guard spokesman said, adding that all of the boat people, whose nationality has not been determined, were in good condition.
A Coast Guard helicopter is searching for two men lost when their boat wrecked Monday when it detected the group of castaways, the agency said.
Eleven Cuban men were rescued Monday near Turkey Point in Biscayne Bay when their boat wrecked.
Air and sea search and rescue units from the Miami Fire Department, the Miami-Dade Police Department aand the Coast Guard participated in the operation
