Student pilot on break-and-enter, larceny charge

A student pilot, charged with break and enter and larceny, was Thursday granted GUY$100,000 bail and barred from leaving the country legally.

City Magistrate Fabayo Azore granted 21-year old Colwyn St. Helen pre-trial liberty and ordered that he lodge his travel documents and report to the Providence Police Station every Friday at 9:30 AM.

St. Helen of 995 3^rd Avenue, Diamond, East Bank Demerara is accused of committing the offence, in the company of others, at the dwelling house of Nicholas Marks on July 15, 2014 at Greenfield, Providence, East Bank Demerara.

St.Helen has to return to court on September 15, 2014.

He allegedly stole one Samsung laptop, one knife, one blue back-pack, one bottle vodka, one bottle whisky, one gold necklace, several gold and silver braceletds with a total value of GUY$407,900.

The items are the property of Marks and Shireen Bisoon.

The prosecution did not oppose bail, but urged that it be substantial and that the defendant lodge his travel documents.
