A man on Wednesday confessed to killing his common-law wife whose head was found in a bucket of water, police said.Vindra “Krishna” Tyram,32, is expected to be charged with the murder of 25-year old Shelly Persaud.
A high-ranking police source said Tyram admitted to investigators that he killed the woman during an argument.
An autopsy revealed that the woman died of suffocation due to manual strangulation.
The body of Persaud was found at her Lot 34 Friendship, East Bank Demerara home early Tuesday morning.
Investigators had initially learnt that Tyram had returned late Monday night early Tuesday morning after imbibing and an argument erupted.
