Body of East Bank Demerara bus conductress found

An East Bank Demerara bus conductress was Sunday morning found dead in a drain a short distance from her home at Craig Village.

She has been identified as Macie Cummings and was said to be in her 40s. She lived at Third Street, Craig Village but her body was found at Cross Street, one corner away.

An eyewitness at the scene could not immediately say whether there were marks of violence.

Cummings and her Barbadian husband had had frequent domestic disputes, forcing her to leave their matrimonial home at one time. It was not immediately known whether her husband was in Guyana.

She was a conductress on her brother’s Route 42 minibus.
