The Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) was Tuesday preparing to rush engineers and other personnel to Paramakatoi to plug a leaking reservoir that has caused residents and government offices to be out of water for several days now.
The utility company said it received a report on March 20 that water supply in the community was being disrupted. โThe Toshao of Paramakatoi has reported that the reservoir that serves the area is leaking and requested GWI’s urgent assistance to solve the problem, since the Village was unsuccessful in attempts to resolve the problem,โ said GWI in a statement.
The company said its technical team would assess the situation and provide assistance to the community to solve the problem.
GWI assured hinterland communities that it would provide technical support to ensure that the water supply system is operable in all Hinterland communities
