GFC Coach dies in Valentine’s Day smash up

The GFC coach was early Friday- Valentine’s Day- morning killed in a gruesome accident on Mandela Avenue.

He has been identified as Peter Lashley. Up to the time of the accident he was employed by John Fernandes Limited.

Eyewitnesses said he was riding his motorcycle when he ended up underneath a truck. His head and face were severely disfigured. One account is that Lashley was exiting Meadow Brook Drive while the truck was heading north on Mandela Avenue.

The accident occured near the gymnasium.
