A man who allegedly attempted to smuggle four kilogrammes of cocaine to Canada was Monday pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.
Trevor Packs of 3881 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown is due to appear in the Providence Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday where the case would continue to be heard.
That decision was taken by Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry after Packs pleaded innocent to being in possession of 4.090 kilogrammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking on January 17 at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri.
At the time the narcotic was allegedly found in the false bottom of a suitcase that belonged to him, he was an outgoing passenger to Canada.
The prosecution’s case was that anti-narcotics police conducted a search of Packs after he was seen acting in a suspicious manner.
He is represented by Attorney-at-Law, James Bond.
