A man was stabbed to death Saturday night during an argument with a woman over GUY$1,000 she had allegedly given him to buy food for her, police said.
He has been identified as 43-year old Percival Williams of Hague, West Coast Demerara.
The woman has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Police said Williams had allegedly converted the GUY$1,000 to his own use instead of buying the food for the woman.
“During the argument he was stabbed to his chest by the woman and he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Leonora Cottage Hospital,” police said.
The woman had apparently given Williams, said to be a drug-addict, the money several days ago to buy her a meal.
