Businesswoman shot dead, husband injured

An Essequibo businesswoman was Saturday night shot dead and her husband injured while they were hanging out a city nightspot, relatives said.

Dead is Shelly Basir-Lall, said to be in her mid 30s. Her husband, Raymond Lall,  and one of his employees were  up to Sunday morning patients at private city hospitals.

The incident occured at Mambo’s Bar,  Barr and Lamaha Streets, Kitty, Georgetown. Preliminary information is that two masked men arrived in a white car, shot them and fled the scene.

A family member said the couple’s main reason for being in Georgetown was to conduct business.They own a gas station which was a GuyOil outlet at Charity.
