NY-bound construction worker held with cocaine in milk

A construction worker, who was destined for the United States (US) for the first time, was held with cocaine in milk at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.

Head of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), James Singh said the cocaine in powdered milk weighed more than 10 pounds.

The 30-year old man, who lives in Sophia, was booked to travel on a Caribbean Airlines flight Thursday afternoon.

Singh said that was supposed to be the suspect’s first trip to the US.

Over the years, CANU agents and Anti-Narcotics Police have found cocaine stashed in cooked food, fish, fake awara, cosmetics, rum and  cream liqueur.
