Two men wanted for two separate murders are among four persons arrested Friday.
Investigators said they are arrested a “prime suspect” in the murder of Akeem Yorrick of Plasiance Squatting Area, East Coast Demerara on August 05, 2015.
The other person arrested was wanted for the murder of Sanasie Lewis on September 04, 2015 at the Ghetto Flex Hangout Bar in Albouystown
Police signalled that the suspect could be arraigned shortly for the indictable offence as legal advice has been already sought from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The suspect in Yorrick’s killing was among three persons arrested in connection with the robbery of Gansham Jorie and two family members of a motor car, cash and jewllery on October 29, 2015 at their Prospect, Mahaica, home. Police said they “were positively identified during an identification parade.” “The vehicle along with part of the booty was recovered during police investigations and charges are to be instituted shortly,” police said in a statement.
Police also said the man who allegedly killed Lewis was “one of their most elusive suspects for some time now and he was also “wanted in connection with a series of armed robberies and violent crimes.”
