Car rental agent shot dead

Police say they are probing the shooting death of a car rental agent during the pre-dawn hours of Saturday morning at Regent and Bourda Streets, Georgetown.

Dead is Stanley “Steve” Lovell, 30 years of 64 Prashad Nagar, Georgetown. 

During the incident that occurred at about 3 AM, 21 years old Anthony Lall, a cleaner, of Bent Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, was shot and injured.

Investigations were told that Lovell was sitting on the bonnet of his motor car PMM3825 when he was approached by a male who was armed with a high powered weapon and who open fire hitting him 13 times about his body and escaped in a waiting vehicle.

Anthony Lall who was said to be standing next to Stanley Lovell was shot in his left foot. He was treated at a hospital and sent away. He presently assisting the police in their investigations.

The police have recovered 14 9mm spent shells from the scene.
