A 9mm pistol and 17 rounds of matching ammunition were found at a resort located in the Soesdyke-Linden Highway, police said.
The Guyana Police Force said the Glock 17 pistol and bullets were found on Saturday about 8:30 p.m. at a resort located on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
Police said a 34-year-old security guard attached to the resort was conducting routine checks around the compound when he observed what appeared to be a firearm near a small drain along a concrete walkway.
“The security guard took possession of the suspected firearm and contacted the police,” police added.
The weapon and ammunition were handed over to the police who took them to the Timehri Police Station.
