Suspected killer found hiding in La Parfaite Harmonie trench

A man, who allegedly stabbed to death another man at Lust-En-Rust, La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, was found hiding in a trench and arrested, police said.

The victim in the incident that occurred on Sunday, March 1 has been identified as 28-year-old Joel Anthony Tamesar, a construction worker of La Parfaite Harmonie.

Investigators were informed that Tamesar was at the shop when the suspect, a 38-year-old man also of La Parfaite Harmonie, entered the premises. “An altercation reportedly ensued between the two men, during which the suspect allegedly armed himself with a knife and inflicted a stab wound to the left side of the deceased’s chest before fleeing the scene in a southern direction,” police added.

The injured man was escorted to the West Demerara Regional Hospital by public-spirited citizens, where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment.

The body was subsequently escorted to the Ezekiel Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
