Two residents of Tabatinga, a community west of Lethem, the capital town of Region Nine (Upper Takatu-Upper Essequibo) on Monday night remained in custody in connection with the alleged discovery of marijuana and cocaine at a residence, the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) said Monday.
CANU accused Laurence France and Drawn Williams of having 45 grammes of cocaine and 27 grammes of marijuana in their possession on Friday, February 27.
Anti-drug agents said the narcotics were found in several parcels.
Meanwhile, CANU said 43-year-old Doris Joseph pleaded guilty to being in possession of 338 grammes of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
She was ordered to pay a fine of GY$101,000, CANU said.
