Teenagers arrested for Windsor Forest assault, victim asked to contact police

Last Updated on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, 19:43 by Writer

Two persons assaulting a man while a third person escapes.

A man, who was seen on social media being assaulted by three males at First Lady Park, Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara, has told investigators that the suspects attempted to rob him of his cellular phone, the Guyana Police Force said on Wednesday.

Since the arrest of the trio on Sunday, police said the 21-year-old man of Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo on Monday reported to the Leonora Police Station that he was the person seen being assaulted in the video. “The complainant reported that he was seated at the park when he was approached by three males, who assaulted him and attempted to relieve him of his cellular phone; however, no property was taken,” police said in a statement.

A statement was taken from the complainant and investigations are ongoing, police said.

Last Sunday, police said they traced the ownership of the getaway car, PGG 6502, to Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo where the driver, a 17-year-old male of Zeelugt, was contacted. Police said he subsequently assisted the police in locating two other suspects — an 18-year-old also of Zeelugt and a 16-year-old of Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara. They were arrested and, along with the car, taken to the Leonora Police Station, police said

Preliminary investigations revealed that the video showed three males assaulting another male at the location. One of them was seen pulling what appeared to have been a knife from his waist as he returned to collect footwear near the victim.

Persons nearby could be heard shouting at them to leave the victim alone.
