Political activist Bryan “Bryan Max” Mackintosh and social media personality Mikhail “Guyanese Critic” Rodrigues are on station bail in connection with the brutal assault of Mackintosh.

Police said they contacted both men “both of whom are cooperating with investigators.”

Mr Rodrigues was placed on GY$50,000 bail and Mr Mackintosh was placed on GY$25,000 bail.

Police did not say what offences they were charged with but said they are both slated to appear in court on August 25, 2025.

The Guyana Police Force said they launched an investigation relative to an incident captured on video and which is being circulated on social media involving Mssrs Rodrigues and Mackintosh.

Mr Mackintosh is a candidate for We Invest In Nationhood (WIN) political party.

Based on a Facebook Live video by Mr Mackintosh, he (Mackintosh) turned up outside Mr Rodrigues’ studio on Laluni Street, Queenstown, Georgetown.

Initially, he refused Mr Rodrigues’ invitation to enter the building but later accepted. He entered the studio and after a brief verbal exchange was allegedly badly beaten.

The police force says it will provide a further update as the investigation progresses.

This is not the first time that Mr Mackintosh has been badly beaten.
