Police on Saturday said they were probing the alleged beating of political activist Bryan “Max” Mackintosh.
“The Guyana Police Force has launched an investigation relative to an incident captured on video and which is being circulated on Social Media involving Mikhael Rodrigues, called ‘Guyanese Critic’, and Bryan Max.
Mr Mackintosh is a candidate for We Invest In Nationhood (WIN) political party.
Based on a Facebook Live video by Mr Mackintosh, he turned up outside Mr Rodrigues’ studio on Laluni Street.
Initially, he refused Mr Rodrigues’ invitation to enter the building but later accepted. He entered the studio and after a brief verbal exchange was allegedly badly beaten.
The police force says it will provide a further update as the investigation progresses.
This is not the first time that Mr Mackintosh has been badly beaten.
