As police continue their manhunt in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a 20-year old Indigenous Amerindian woman at Raghoo’s Bar, two men who incited the prime suspect to commit the act were Monday charged and remanded to prison, the Guyana Police Force said.
Police said disc jockey (DJ) 36-year-old Leon De Freitas of Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke-Linden Highway and music selector 30-year-old Ryan Rajnarine were charged on Monday with inciting Barry Sullivan to engage in sexual penetration of a female without her consent.
That incident occurred on July 13 at the bar located on the Soesdyke Public Road.
Police said De Freitas and Rajnarine were not required to plead and were remanded to prison by Magistrate Wanda Fortune in the Friendship Magistrate Court.
The matter was adjourned to August 18, 2025 for disclosure.
