Nursing assistant surrenders to police for allegedly creating public mischief about Adriana Younge’s post-mortem

Last Updated on Monday, 5 May 2025, 22:11 by Writer

Ms. Tiana Lewis-King

The Ministry of Health Nursing Assistant, who claimed that she witnessed the post-mortem of Adriana Younge, surrendered to police Monday night.

“The Guyana Police Force wishes to in the public that Nursing Assistant Tiana Lewis-King turned herself in to the Police at the Criminal Investigation Department accompanied by an attorney from the law office of Hughes, Fields and Stoby,” the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said.

Police earlier Monday issued a bulletin stating that she was wanted for allegedly creating public mischief and attempting to pervert and obstruct the course of justice.

Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony earlier Monday denied ever asking the Nursing Assistant to witness the post-mortem examination of the body of the 11-year old girl.

Authorities also said a log book and a video recording as well as corroboration by Younge’s family lawyer, Darren Wade, and family doctor Caleb McCloggan confirmed that the Nursing Assistant was not at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation’s mortuary.

A voice recording of a conversation has been circulating on social media in which a woman is heard saying that “Frank” asked her to go down to the mortuary to witness the post-mortem.

The woman also gives a purported account of her observations of the body and makes conclusions.

A post-mortem conducted by three foreign forensic pathologists found the girl died by drowning.

Samples from the body have since been sent overseas for testing.
