Hours after a court appearance for allegedly wounding his reputed wife three months ago, a man shot dead her, her sister, and their mother before committing suicide by drinking a poisonous substance, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said.
Police said they recovered a Beretta pistol and a noxious substance next to the now deceased killer, Parmanand Ramdehol.
Investigators said they were informed that the incident stemmed from a domestic argument between Ramdehol and his now dead common-law wife, 25-year-old Maline LaCruz.
Police said in a statement Thursday morning that a woman told investigators that “she heard Ramdehol and Maline arguing, followed by several loud explosions that sounded like gunshots, and she and the children ran from the house.
Maline received injuries to the right side back and breast, left and right side back and one to the throat.
The couple leaves behind children ages 3, 4 and 8.

Police said Ramdehol and his reputed wife had a history of domestic violence dating back to at least January 9, 2025 when he was arrested and charged by the police for wounding and threatening behaviour.
He was remanded to prison and subsequently granted bail. On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, the matter was called and adjourned to another date.
The others who were allegedly shot and killed by Ramdehol at about 9:10 Wednesday night at their residence on Ideal Road, Soesdyke-Linden Highway were Maline’s sister, 16-year-old Sueann LaCruz and their mother 50-year-old Waveney LaCruz.
SueAnn received injuries to the left side breast and right side and centre of her lower back and Waveney sustained gunshot injuries to the left side head and breast, and right hand.
P0lice said there was an attempted murder allegedly committed on 23-year-old Seon LaCruz who received suspected gunshot injuries to his left shoulder and jaw.
The eyewitness told police that she along with Maline, Sueann and Maline’s children went to one of the creeks along the Linden Highway, after which they left for Soesdyke Junction.
While at the junction, Parmanand Ramdehol drove up on his motorcycle and stopped and they decided to go home.
She said while at Maline LaCruz’s home again, she saw Ramdehol drove up on his motorcycle and went into the house at that time and the now dead and injured persons were inside their house where gunshots subsequently rang out.
Police said they retrieved the 9mm Beretta pistol along with five live rounds in the magazine and one in the breach from next to Ramdehol who was lying next to the front door, inside the sitting area with a small uncorked bottle emitting a noxious smell.
Police could not immediately say whether Ramdehol was licensed to carry a firearm.
Crime scene detectives also recovered seven 9mm spent shells, two warheads, and four pieces of metal fragments.
