Small electrical fire at GECOM- official

There was a small electrical fire at the Cowan and High Streets head office of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), and official said.

Staff members were evacuated while firefighters checked the building.

The electrical fire occurred in a filing room.

At least four firefighting appliances responded to the report.

Only one fire tender remained at the scene while an assessment was being done.
