Police are investigating an early Monday morning accident in which three persons died as a result of the collision of two motorcycles on the No. 79 Village Public Road, Corentyne, police said.
The fatalities are 18-year-old Keishan Ramnauth Lot 115 No. 60 Village, Corentyne, Berbice; 18-year-old Adrian Inshan of No. 55 Village, Corentyne, and Queensway Security Service supervisor, 21-year-old Ameer Subhan of Lot 122 ‘B’ Line Path, Corentyne, Berbice.
Investigators were told that Ramnauth was riding his motorcycle, #CN 6641, with pillion rider Inshan, at a fast rate of speed, when it collided with another motorcycle, #CP 3158, which was proceeding north on the western drive lane.
“As a result of the collision, the two motorcyclists and one pillion rider were flung off the motorcycles, onto the road surface where they all received injuries on their bodies,” the Guyana Police Force said.
They were all picked up by public-spirited citizens and conveyed to the Skeldon Public Hospital where a doctor pronounced the two motorcyclists, Ameer Subhan and Keishan Ramnauth, dead.
Inshan later succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, police said.
