Government’s Honorary Adviser, Basil Blackman on Tuesday denied that a man named in an alleged plot to assassinate President David Granger was at his recently held birthday party.

Blackman at first told Demerara Waves Online News that several persons were in attendance and he did not know everyone who was there.

Hours later, he called again, saying that he went in search of the man who denied being at the party. Blackman said the man told him that he is a Muslim and he does not attend parties.

Blackman recalled that his interaction with the man on Tuesday marked the first time that he he had met and seen him. He said the man also denied attending the party.

Senior police sources, however, insisted that the man well-known as Rasta was at the party held at Blackman’s home at Bel Air Park.

President Granger also attended the party.
