The man, who allegedly burnt his father to death, was Wednesday arraigned for the indictable offence.
Fifty-two year old Colin Ross of 14 Kildonan Village, Corentyne was charged with the murder of 83-year old Rudolph Ross.
Ross’ charred remains were removed from the debris of his house following an early morning fire on April 10, 2017.
Colin Ross was not required to plea to the indictable offence.
He was remanded to prison by Magistrate R. Singh at the Number 51 Vilage Magistrates’ Court until May 8, 2017.
Investigators instituted the charge after a diligent probe assisted by the Guyana Fire Service.
A bottle containing a flammable substance was retrieved from the fire scene.
Investigators were told that Colin Ross, who frequented his father’s residence, had argued prior to the fire.
