The second of three youths who dug out a hole at the Sophia Juvenile Detention Centre and escaped through it has been recaptured, police said.
The Guyana Police Force said the second arrest was madet at Tain Settlement, Corentyne, Berbice at about 7:15 Saturday night “based on information received from the public.”
In relation to the other one who is still at large, police said “diligent efforts are being made to have the other recaptured.”
The one, who was caught at Tain and the other one who is still at large, were on remand for simple larceny and break and enter and larceny.
The first one who caught at Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, hails from Adventure, Essequibo Coast, and was on remand for robbery under arms.
They escaped from the Juvenile Holding Centre, at Sophia, about 5AM Saturday, September 10, after they allegedly dug a hole in the lower flat and scaled the fence.
