Man stabbed to death near Bourda Market

MurdersceneA man was stabbed to death near Bourda Market, Georgetown during an argument, but the assailant has not yet been arrested, police said.

Dead is 34-year old Omesh Chetram of Unity, East Coast Demerara. The incident occurred  between 11:30 Saturday night and 1:30 Sunday morning on Robb Street between Bourda and Alexander Streets.

“Enquiries disclosed that the deceased had an argument with a male, during which the suspect stabbed him in the lower region of his abdomen with a knife and escaped,” the Guyana Police Force said in a statement.

Chetram was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police added.

The suspect has not  yet been arrested.
