A man was stabbed to death near Bourda Market, Georgetown during an argument, but the assailant has not yet been arrested, police said.
Dead is 34-year old Omesh Chetram of Unity, East Coast Demerara. The incident occurred between 11:30 Saturday night and 1:30 Sunday morning on Robb Street between Bourda and Alexander Streets.
“Enquiries disclosed that the deceased had an argument with a male, during which the suspect stabbed him in the lower region of his abdomen with a knife and escaped,” the Guyana Police Force said in a statement.
Chetram was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police added.
The suspect has not yet been arrested.
