Technical Adviser, Engineer Walter Willis is not dead, but is instead in a coma apparently due to wrong medicine, family members said Monday afternoon.
An extended team of doctors was Monday afternoon expected to evaluate Mr. Willis’ condition.
A close family member said she was called into the private room about 9 AM by medical personnel so that she could have said her final goodbye. However, she said she insisted that the life-support be kept on so that other persons could have gone to pay their final respects.
The previous news of Mr. Willis’ passing was communicated by his family to the Ministry of Public Infrastructure which issued a statement.
Another doctor, who was later asked to see Mr. Willis Monday afternoon, detected heartbeat.
Demerara Waves Online News was reliably informed that insulin was administered to Mr. Willis although he is not a diabetic. He was taken to the city hospital Saturday night after he complained of severe stomach pain.
