Man shot, robbed of GYD$1.8 M

A man was shot and robbed of GYD$1.8 million in Kitty, Georgetown on Monday morning.

Police said that at about 10 AM on Monday May 09, 2016, Sean Harper, 46 years, of Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, was about to exit his motor vehicle at Alexander Street, Kitty, when he was attacked by a man armed with a handgun.

“The man smashed the window of the vehicle and grabbed a bag containing $1.8M and then discharged rounds at Sean Harper before escaping in a car driven by an accomplice,” the Guyana Police Force said in a statement.

Harper received injuries to his right foot and abdomen and has been admitted to hospital.

Investigations are in progress.
