Suspected 19-Y-O bandit killed in Goedverwagting

The body of suspected bandit was on Wednesday evening removed from the Railway Embankment, Goedverwagting, East Coast Demerara.

The body was identified as 19-year-old Sherwin Lynch of Sparendaam Housing Scheme.

Police in a release on Thursday stated that the man was stabbed to death. Police say that the body was found with suspected stab wounds at about 20:30hrs.

However, persons at the scene reported that the man was shot after he attempted to snatch someone’s bag.

The body is at the GPHC mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination as police investigations continue.
