The three miners, who were reported missing in the “Omai mountain area”, Cuyuni-Mazaruni (Region Seven), have been located and arrangements are being made to transport them to Georgetown, the Ministry of the Presidency said Thursday.
The arrangements are being made by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC)
On Tuesday February 14, Mr. Anthony Van Sertima, Mr. Gavin Van Sertima and Mr. Kwastan Lewis, who are all relatives, reportedly left their mining camp to look for a mining block belonging to Onica Williams, but subsequently lost their way on the way back to their own camp, an article in today’s edition of the Guyana Chronicle said.
Members of the GGMC and the Guyana Police Force embarked on a search and found the three men walking along the trail. They appear to be in good health. The men will be transported to Georgetown shortly.
