Invest in Region 10 – MP Figueira urges private sector

MP Jermaine Figueira

Last Updated on Tuesday, 9 February 2016, 16:17 by Writer

APNU+AFC  Member of Parliament Jermaine Figueira has urged that the private sector take the opportunity to make investments in Region 10 – Upper Demerara Upper Berbice.

Figueira, the Region 10 Regional representative, stated that under the new APNU+AFC administration, the region has seen renewed growth and investment potential.

“I would like to take this opportunity to invite members of the Private Sector, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and even persons in the diaspora to come and rediscover; invest in Region Ten. Our warm and hospitable residents welcome you under this fresh approach,” he stated.

The MP pointed out that soon enough Linden will rival Georgetown in terms of development noting that many of the deplorable internal and external roads have been identified for major rehabilitation.

Additionally, the major access roads of several communities across the township have already been fixed. The fixing of these roads brought joy and deep comfort to the people who dreadfully struggled to get in and out of their respective communities, he indicated.

He stated “we in Region Ten are ready for development, we are ready to with a fresh approach and especially since our confidence is being restored through stimulated growth.”

“Region Ten is experiencing a renaissance, a resurgence of hope under this fresh approach to governance. The illumination along Burnham Drive and Winifred Gaskin Highway for the first time literally provided our deliverance from darkness hence restoring hope that a good life beckons,” Figueira stated.
