Guyanese, Brazilian allegedly caught with stolen horses

Last Updated on Wednesday, 3 February 2016, 12:43 by Denis Chabrol

Two Guyanese and one Brazilian have been arrested for allegedly being in possession of 15 horses that were being taken to Brazil, police said.

Investigators said the men were arrested by Lethem Police at about midday, Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Manari, Central Rupununi.

Police said the horses were stolen from a ranch owned by a businessman at Manari and were being taken to Brazil.

The Guyana Police Force described the men as “rustlers” who have been arrested and were in custody assisting with investigations.
