Nascimentos’ maid jailed for stealing diamond earrings

The maid. of Christopher ‘Kit’ Nascimento and his wife, ‎Gem Madhoo-Nascimento, was Wednesday jailed for 18 months for stealing her employer’s diamond earrings. 

Thirty-six year old Shawndell Williams of ‎ 59 Russell Street, Charlestown, Georgetown pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to her by Chief Magistrate Ann Mc Lennnan.

Madhoo-Nascimento identified the property as hers and they were lodged at the East La Penitence Police Station. The Chief Magistrate has since ordered that the jewellery must be returned to Madhoo-Nascimento  

Details of the offence are ‎that on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 168 D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown, she stole from the dwelling house of the Nasimentos three pairs of diamond earrings and GYD$ $421,000 cash, totalling to $481,000. 

Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones said that on ‎December 27, 2015 Williams reported to :the police at East LaPenitence station that someone broken into her employer’s home and carted off the articles mentioned in the charge. 
A police probe and search of Williams’ room she occupied at: her  employer’s home revealed a diamond earring and other jewellery in her purse.
