A strong supporter of the Alliance For Change and businessman Robert Babal has been named  Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Guyana Power and Light (GPL).

Badal, the owner of the Pegasus Hotel in Georgetown, is a known supporter of one of the governing political parties in the coalition and even spoke at election campaign events.

In recent years, Badal also the Chief Executive Officer of Guyana Stockfeeds Inc (GSI) has been one of the voices in the private sector critical of the past People’s Progressive Party Civic-led government.
