Beautician, taxi driver charged with cocaine trafficking

A beautician and taxi driver, who were intercepted on their way to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) allegedly with a quantity of cocaine, were Monday refused bail and remanded to jail.

Appearing before City Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan were 26-year old Chrishell Browne of 32 Lamaha Park, Georgetown and 33-year Andre Shawn Pilgrim of 83 Lamaha Street pleaded not guilty to the charge.

They were remanded to prison until October 9, 2015.

The facts are that on Friday, September 11 at Timehri, East Bank Demerara, they had in their possession 12.31 grammes of cocaine, for the purpose of trafficking.

Browne was represented by attorney-at-law Mark Waldron, and Pilgrim is represented by Adrian Thompson.
