Alleged cocaine-in-vagina trafficker remanded to prison

A woman, who allegedly attempted to smuggle cocaine in her vagina to Barbados, was Monday refused bail and remanded to prison.

She 20-year-old Oshanda Nicasie Nicholas of 36 Sussex Street, Georgetown.

She was arrested on September 4, 2015 unemployed woman of Lot 36 Sussex Street, Georgetown at Ogle International Airport, East Coast Demerara.

Anti-drug agents said they found 460 grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Defence lawyer, Dexter Todd ask the court for an early trial date.

Police Prosecutor Bharat Mangru successfully asked the court to adjourn the case until September 18 because the case is incomplete.
