A fire at Enterprise East Coast Demerara destroyed a house mid Tuesday morning leaving five persons homeless, one day after nine others lost their home in a blaze on the West Bank Demerara.

At the time of the fire at 512 Forbes Street, Enterprise Gardens, no one was at home.

Investigators were working on the theory that the fire was of electrical origin.

Neighbours formed a bucket brigade but their efforts were futile and eventually the one-flat three-bedroom house was destroyed.

Those homeless are Imran Khan, who works in the fishing industry, his wife Latchmin Nankishore, 18-year old Bibi Ann Khan, 16-year old Cindy Ann Khan and 14-year old Amir Khan.

Nine persons were Monday afternoon rendered homeless at 134 Coglan Dam, West Bank Demerara.

Those homeless ate Youmanaram Bissessar, his wife Nanda Bissessar, his ex-wife and six children.
