A Linden businesswoman was Saturday night gunned down by armed bandits who fled with a bag containing about GUY$20,000 cash.Police did not disclose the amount of money but sources confirmed that it was about GUY$20,000. Investigators confirmed that 45-year old Shevon Gordon was shot dead about 7:30 PM as she was about to enter her home at Block 22, Wismar.
“The men demanded a bag with cash that Shevon Gordon had in her possession and she resisted and was shot to her body. The men then took away the bag and ran away,” the Guyana Police Force said in a statement. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Hospital.
Her son, 23-year old Devon Gordon, who pursued the bandits, was shot to his left thigh during a scuffle. “The men then escaped with the bag of money,” according to a police spokesman.
The woman’s husband, Elon Gordon, who pursued the two bandits was not injured.
